Donât get so caught up with the giving
and receiving of gifts that you forget whose birthday we are
celebrating. Decorate a gift box for Jesus. Decide as a family
on gifts you will give to Jesus. Help your children understand
that Jesus does not want bright packages from the mall. Your
family's gift for Him might be your love, worship, gratitude,
praise, an offering for missions, or an act of ministry. Then
decide how you will give these gifts.
Open the box on Christmas morning before you
open your family gifts as further emphasis on the importance
of the gifts you are giving to Jesus.
This is another activity that can become
a special tradition to your family. The gift box can be boxed
up with the other decorations to be opened the following Thanksgiving
evening. At that time, your family can see if you have truly
given Jesus his gift.
