Today's Activity - Christmas Countdown Chain
Younger children have a difficult time
understanding the passage of time, and this idea helps them
visualize how many days it is until Christmas. Make a paper
chain from red and green construction paper, using one loop
for each day until Christmas. Each day the child can tear
off one link and see the chain getting shorter as Christmas
gets closer. Some families write silly poems, game ideas,
or clues to little gifts on each link. This idea can be used
with any event the children are eagerly anticipating.
