Today's Activity - Visit a Retirement Village
or Nursing Home
Just as Abraham and Sarah were elderly, but
still an important part of Godâs plan, so too are the
elderly and homebound. The holidays can be a most difficult
time of the year for the elderly and homebound. Often in the
hustle and bustle of this season, they are forgotten. Take
some time to talk to your children about the wonderful lives
these people have lived, the history they have experienced,
and remind them that God loves these people. Help your children
express Godâs love and their respect and honor with
a visit to your local retirement village or nursing home to
deliver Christmas cards to the residents. If your children
are musical, offer to come and sing carols or play your instruments
for the residents. Remember to call ahead and get approval
from the manager or activities director, as well as find out
a time that best suits the residentâs schedule.
